Start Your Life with Good Oral Health

Did you know that a smile is one of the first features many people notice when meeting new people?

Your 20s are an exciting time in your life, whether you’re on your way to finishing university, about to jet set on an endless run of travels or are getting a kick start on your career; your oral health should always be a priority. At Gentle and Caring Dentistry in Maroubra we believe that by maintaining good oral health at a young age you can help save yourself costly restorative work in the future while embarking on your exciting start to life in the present.

Yesterday is History

Tomorrow is a Mystery

Today is a Gift, that’s why it’s called the Present!

Now is the time to start maintaining your oral health…

At Gentle and Caring Dentistry in Maroubra we encourage regular general check-ups to help treat your dental issues and prevent further dental problems. Your oral health isn’t just concerned with the look of your teeth in fact your dental health includes: the teeth, gums, tongue, jaws and lips which are all co-dependent. If dental disease occurs it can influence the health of some of  or all of the many elements of your smile.

As young adults the decisions you make now have weight on your future. Today there is such a large focus on healthy eating, exercise and vigorous lifestyles and which is why we encourage the same focus on dental health. With regular check-ups you can help start your adult life off with a smile that says you are confident and healthy.

Hitting the dating scene up? Keep bad breath at bay…

Dates can be an awkward experience in themselves, without having to think about your breath! Bad breath, more technically known as ‘halitosis’, is a common condition caused by sulphur-producing bacteria that live within the surface of the tongue and in the throat. Generally the cause of bad breath lends itself to poor oral hygiene, and while other genetic or lifestyle choices often contribute to halitosis, maintaining regular hygiene can help suppress the condition. Good oral hygiene, including brushing, flossing and tongue cleaning along with regular check-ups at our Maroubra practice can help fight of the bacteria causing bad breath.

During your check-up we will conduct an assessment of your mouth to find and identify the source of your bad breath. If it is not lifestyle-related (smoking or eating acidic foods) we will recommend a treatment to help alleviate your bad breath.

Save money by avoiding the need for future restorative work

Poor dental hygiene can often lead to more serious dental conditions such as gingivitis and periodontal disease which may require restorative dental treatments in the future. During your general check-up we will assess your mouth to determine any problems that can be treated before they progress into more severe problems. If you are already in need of restorative work we also offer treatments to help return your smile to its former appearance and health. These treatments include:

  • White fillings
  • Crowns and bridges
  • Dental implants

Maintain and enhance your smile

At Gentle and Caring Dentistry we also offer cosmetic dental treatments to enhance your smile. If you’re interested in cosmetically enhancing your smile why wait? A simple teeth whitening treatment could help boost your confidence in your next job interview, blind date or night out on the town. Today’s obsession with looks and appearance has increased society’s desire for cosmetic treatments. Here at Gentle and Caring Dentistry we offer porcelain veneers, composite bonding, teeth whitening and full smile transformations for our patients looking to enhance their smiles.
