White Fillings
Protect Your Teeth from Decay with Discreet Composite Resin Fillings
Help protect your teeth from decay without the need for conspicuous amalgam fillings! Old silver fillings have been used in dentistry for over 100 years, and while they provide satisfactory restoration, we at Gentle and Caring Dentistry in Sydney mostly use more discreet composite resin fillings. Also known as ‘tooth-colored fillings’ or ‘white fillings,’ our composite fillings are a great alternative to traditional metal fillings.

General Questions
Safe Removal of Silver Fillings at Gentle and Caring Dentistry
Do you have silver fillings? We can safely and gently remove them if needed. At Gentle and Caring Dentistry, we won’t remove your amalgam fillings unnecessarily. We only recommend removal when it’s needed.
To safely remove your silver fillings, we use plenty of water, high-volume evacuation, and place a rubber dam at the back of your throat to protect your soft tissues and prevent you from swallowing any removed filling material.
We uphold strict sterilization and quality control protocols, ensuring these standards are maintained throughout all our treatments.
Less Obvious Solution to Silver Fillings: White Fillings
Do you want a less obvious solution to silver fillings? We offer white fillings made from composite resin material. This substance can be color-matched to the shade of your teeth, making it virtually invisible!
Benefits of Our White Fillings:
- Enhance the color and shape of a tooth
- Strong and durable
- Remove about actively preventing decay
Choose white fillings at Gentle and Caring Dentistry for a discreet and effective solution to dental restoration.
The Process Involved with White Fillings
What is the process involved with white fillings? At Gentle and Caring Dentistry, we first assess your dental condition to determine the complexity of your case and the severity of your dental decay. Sometimes, white fillings are not always the best option. In cases of extensive decay, we may recommend inlays or onlays instead. If white fillings are suitable, we will discuss this option with you in depth.
Steps for White Fillings:
The tooth is first numbed with “the wand”( pain-free delivery of local anaesthesia).
- We clean away the decay on the affected teeth.
- The composite resin material is placed in thr tooth, and is hardened with a special light
- The filling is shaped & polished and the bite adjusted .
- With proper care, your white filling should last between 7-10 years.
